Instructions
Sandscape ensures that sand art is easy using our pre-cut card designs. The adhesive is already on the cards, meaning no gluing, no fuss and no mess, and any sand that is spilt can be used again, so there is almost no waste, something which all parents desire. Just peel the picture in stages, sprinkle on the coloured sand and there you have it, a perfect picture! These pictures are keepsakes for all the family.

What to do:
-
Lift the outline using a pick to reveal the adhesive below.
-
Use coloured sand of your choice completely covering the sticky area. Gently tap the card on the side of a bowl to remove excess sand.
- Repeat the above process for each chosen colour/area until the card is completely covered in sand.
Sand Art is easy enough for the younger ones and also challenging enough for adults. The card designs vary in difficulty so that children as young as two or three can do them with help and really enjoy playing with sand in the process. Older children may replace the black outlines with black sand, or even take off all backing and cover in sand, so that no paper is left to be seen! Once you start mixing colours and experimenting with different techniques, the possibilities are endless.
Tips from Sandscape
- Younger children may need help lifting the release paper. Encourage them to choose a simple design with large sections.Start with the smaller areas first and remove the background last.
- Start with the dark colours to create a neater picture. You may have to remove a big area first. Take care not to lift adjoining areas or scratch the sand when you remove the smaller areas.
- To cover a larger area, first pour a heap of sand on the one side of the area. Slowly tip the card sideways and let the sand roll down the card.
- Use up any sand that happens to be spilt to mix different colours for interesting variations or even rainbow sand.
- If the sand gets damp or wet, place in open bowls in the sun/oven until dry.
- Avoid working outside on misty or rainy days as the sand will get damp. Bowls must be dry.
